Project Management

“Trying to manage a project without project management is like trying to play a football game without a game plan.” — K. Tate

Project Management skills are a key element of an organisation's success or failure. Good project management helps an organisation achieve both strategic and tactical goals and will also help ensure excellent quality in all areas of operation and delivery. PM's could be seen as the glue between all the stakeholders involved in a project and it's successful outcomes. So, to be effective, a good Project Manager needs to draw on a broad range of skills. Excellent people communication skills, the ability to lead and motivate teams along with technical expertise are all important elements of project management alongside knowledge and understanding in recognised project management methodologies.

Orbital delivers both traditional classroom & online self-paced project management training.  Training is delivered in association with SPOCE Project Management and options include a five-day Prince2® Foundation & Practitioner course with examinations and intermediate level training around M_o_R® (Management of Risk) and MSP® (Managing Successful Programmes) methodologies, using extensive group work and case studies to discover the tools and techniques and pass the related exams.

The Project Management Fundamentals course is a two day session to prepare people for the Project Management Institute (PMI), entry level Certified Associate of Project Management (CAPM®) exam whilst developing their overall project management skill sets, ready for use as soon as attendees get back to the office.

Orbital's fast paced, five day Project Management Programme - Preparing for your PMP further develops project managers with some existing experience. We use interactive workshops to build on existing knowledge and experience, whilst also preparing attendees to sit and pass their Project Management Professional (PMP®) through PMI.

Our subject matter experts and project management courses are all aligned with the Association of Project Management (APM).
